HFX & IBSS Team Up: Powering Food Bank Donations When It Matters Most

As I entered my third week of being Letchworth Foodbank Director, it was a delightful surprise to receive an email from Emily Morgan. With one food donation already delivered Emily was reaching out to us to say she had a second donation to drop off.

When Emily started her role at HFX Workforce Management she was keen to encourage the company and colleagues to work in partnership with a local cause to have a positive impact on the community in which they are based.

Luckily for us, Emily discovered the food bank and set to work galvanising her colleagues into action and established a food donation drive. Emily didn’t stop there, when Integrated Business Software Solutions joined as a partner business she leapt at the chance to get them involved.

Emily’s email was music to my ears. Having visited our warehouse that very week I was acutely aware that due to the rising costs of living, food donations have been down compared to previous years. In fact, each month we are purchasing food to keep up with demand.

We receive over 1000 referrals each year and provide over 3000 emergency food parcels to those in need across the SG postcode area, over 1500 of these are to children. Without people like Emily and the generosity of her colleagues, we simply couldn’t help as many people as we do. This type of community action and corporate support is invaluable for us and we are really excited to see how this partnership develops.
