Getting support over the festive season 

Letchworth Foodbank is here to help by providing emergency food parcels for those facing crisis.

To ensure you get all the help you need we encourage you to contact one of our referral partners to get a foodbank voucher. During the festive season some services will be closed. If you cannot reach a referral partner then please come directly to one of our Foodbank Welcome Centres and our team can assist you.

Our referral partners include:

• Help Through Hardship 0808 208 2138 (Monday to Friday). The Help through Hardship helpline will close at 5pm on Tuesday 23 December 2025 and re-open at 9am on Friday 2 January 2026.
• Citizens Advice North Herts 0800 144 8848. The national helpline will be closed on public holidays. Please see here for further information.
• Your Housing Association, GP or children’s school

Christmas opening days and times

We are usually open on Tuesday and Friday every week. This festive season we will be open as usual on Tuesday 23rd December, Tuesday 30th December and Friday 2nd January. We will be closed on Friday 26th December.

Unfortunately, we have no means of distribution outside those times. Please note that we cannot make deliveries. Also, bear in mind that the food parcels’ content amounts to about 8 kg per person, so you might want to bring a shopping trolley or a suitcase on wheels.

Our phoneline and email will not be monitored from 5pm on 23rd December through to Friday 2nd January. Please leave a message or email and we will come back to you as soon as we can.

For those making referrals, these will be picked up as usual by our Foodbank Welcome Centre teams and parcels ready for collection by clients when we are open.
