☀️ Letchworth Foodbank Stop Holiday Hunger Appeal ☀️
Summer should be a time for fun, freedom and making memories. But for many local low-income families, the school holidays bring extra pressure. The summer can bring increased food and petrol costs, lost hours of work and higher childcare bills.
These extra financial pressures, along with the reduction in support for those on Free School Meals, means that over 2,000 local children could face hunger over the school holidays.
Higher food costs and lost hours of work mean some local parents will skip meals so that their children can eat. Last summer, Letchworth Foodbank provided 2,295 meals to children facing hunger.
We’re asking our community to come together to help ensure that no child goes hungry this summer.
You can make a difference by:
☀️ Making a donation – £25 could provide 3 days of emergency food for a family struggling with the essentials
💚 Setting up a monthly gift – even a small amount helps the foodbank plan ahead and respond when need increases
Together, we can make sure children have the food they need over the holidays.
