About

About our foodbank

Here is an introduction to our project.

The Letchworth Foodbank was established in 2021 as a member of The Trussell Trust’s network of Foodbanks. It is supported by a wide variety of churches, community groups and individuals. All of the team are volunteers.

We provide emergency food for local people in crisis. We help working people as well as those on benefits, from a wide range of backgrounds. When people visit the Foodbank they are given three days’ worth of food, providing them with three meals a day plus some essential non-food items such as cleaning products and toiletries.

We work with a number of partners, particularly North Herts Citizens Advice, to signpost clients to where they can obtain help to resolve the problems they are facing.

We run three foodbanks a week across the area from 10am to 12 noon Tuesdays and Fridays.

Letchworth Foodbank‘s volunteers are led by our Trustees, who are:

Patrick Byrne (Chair)
Elizabeth Bunker
Ciaran McGill
