Stop Holiday Hunger

This summer, children in Letchworth, Hitchin, and Baldock are facing hunger.

Summer should be a time for fun, freedom and making memories. But for many local low-income families, the school holidays bring extra pressure. The summer can bring increased food and petrol costs, lost hours of work and higher childcare bills.

These extra financial pressures, along with the reduction in support for those on Free School Meals, means that over 2,000 local children could face hunger over the school holidays.

Last summer, we provided 2,295 meals to children facing hunger. But we need to do so much more.

We’re asking you to help #StopHolidayHunger this summer.

Donate Food

Collecting physical food donations is an incredibly powerful way to keep our warehouse stocked over the lean summer months. Every single tin of baked beans, box of cereal, or carton of long-life milk goes directly onto the kitchen tables of local families who need it most. Donate in our partner supermarkets or organise your own food collection.

Download our handy guide to get you started with your food collection.

Or simply print the our Food Collection Poster with our most needed items this July and get cracking with your food collection.

You can deliver your donation to our warehouse on Tuesday and Friday mornings 9 – 12:00 (13 Such Close, Works Road, Letchworth Garden City, SG6 1JF).
